You've found the solution in the Compostilla car park. Ponferrada has become an important place on the Way of St. James as the starting point of the French Route. Many tourists come all year round to visit this beautiful city of León in the region of El Bierzo. Park now and forget about your car to explore the narrow streets of the city centre. The car park is located 2 minutes from Plaza Lazurtegui and 4 minutes from Plaza de los Molinos. A 12 minute walk across the bridge of García Ojeda where the river Sil crosses it, you will find the Castle of the Templars, an obligatory stop. Next is the Church of San Andrés or the Basilica of the Virgen de la Encina. If you continue walking you can reach one of the most emblematic points of the city, the Clock Tower, the only gate of the medieval wall that remains standing. Crossing the Clock Tower, we reach the Town Hall square where you can enjoy one of its terraces, weather permitting. If you are interested in museums, Ponferrada offers a wide variety, the Railway Museum which is 8 minutes away without crossing the river or the Radio Museum. It is a covered and guarded car park. The control booth is on level -1. The access control systems work by reading number plates. The advantage is that it is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It has reserved spaces for people with reduced mobility and electric car recharging. In addition, its rates are from one day onwards and it has multipass passes, which means that during the time of your reservation you can enter and leave the car park as many times as you want.
